> Global Stepper:

Hello Dude in Dubai, how’s it going?

< Dude in Dubai:

Hey Global Stepper, things are great, thanks for asking, how about you?

> Global Stepper:

I’m doing well. Thanks for offering to give us advice on desert safari, can you tell us something about it?

< Dude in Dubai:

So, desert safari in Al Badayar desert is the best thing you can do in Dubai.

> Global Stepper:

Big statement, why is that then?

< Dude in Dubai:

You get to ride powerful buggies or quad bikes up, down & around sand dunes and have a great laugh with your friends.

> Global Stepper:

Now you’re selling it to me. That sounds like a lot of fun.

< Dude in Dubai:

Right? Plus, you will definitely go again, believe me.

> Global Stepper:

So, how do I get there from downtown Dubai?

< Dude in Dubai:

Rent a car or take a taxi as there isn’t any public transport there.

> Global Stepper:

Ah I see, so can you give me directions on how to get there?

< Dude in Dubai:

Sure, take the E66 road until you see the signs for Hatta, Oman.

Then take the E77 that leads you to Al Badayer Desert.

You know when you’re there because you’ll see quad & buggy companies.

> Global Stepper:

Thanks, but what if I can’t drive and don’t want to take a taxi?

< Dude in Dubai:

If you book through a tour company, they’ll pick you up from your hotel.

> Global Stepper:

How much does it cost to rent a buggy or a quad?

< Dude in Dubai:

Buggies range between 400 – 700 Dirhams depending on size & power. Whereas, quads are between 350 – 450 Dirhams depending on 2 or 4 wheel drive.

> Global Stepper:

Ah right, how long does a session last?

< Dude in Dubai:

It lasts about an hour and includes a guide.

> Global Stepper:

A guide must be useful, eh?

< Dude in Dubai:

Yeah, especially when you get stuck in the sand!

> Global Stepper:

Haha! So do you have any more advice before going?

< Dude in Dubai:

I’d say, don’t wear your best clothes but wear something comfortable.

> Global Stepper:

Yeah, don’t want to get them ruined, would you recommend sunglasses?

< Dude in Dubai:

Definitely, or eye protective wear because the sand gets in your eyes which makes it impossible to drive the quads or buggies.

> Global Stepper:

Don’t wanna go all that way and forget your sunglasses then?

< Dude in Dubai:

There are shops there selling scarfs and sunglasses to protect face and head too.

> Global Stepper:

Well thanks Dude in Dubai, your advice has been really helpful. I think you’ve convinced me to go on a desert safari.

< Dude in Dubai:

You’re welcome Global Stepper. If you would excuse me, I gotta go see a man about a camel.

> Global Stepper:

Don’t keep it waiting! See ya Dude!
